Stephen Wright, author of American Racer, 1900-1940 (1979) and American Racer, 1940-1980 (1986), divides his time between his native England and the United States. Over the past thirty years, Steve has restored many examples of the machines featured in this book and he maintains an active interest in all aspects of early American motorcycling. He is currently working on Volume Two of The American Motorcycle, which will cover the period from 1915 to 2001. Stephen Wright's two earlier books, American Racer, 1900-1940 and American Racer, 1940-1980 are currently out of print. Many racing enthusiasts have expressed their frustration at trying to find second-hand copies. We are trying to determine if there is enough interest in these two volumes to warrant reprinting them.
